Akustische Wellen, ausgesandt von Meteoren, werden an seismischen Stationen registriert, nachdem sie sich auf dem Wege durch die Atmosphäre ausgebreitet haben. Sie koppeln in den Boden ein. Und sie generieren seismische Rayleigh-Wellen, die anderenorts als Vorläufer aufgezeichnet werden können. Für drei Meteore werden seismische Aufzeichnungen ausgewertet. Bei einem kreuzt die Meteorbahn das Beobachtungsnetz, bei einem anderen verläuft sie in seitlichem Abstand dazu und bei einem dritten verläuft sie weit entfernt vom Beobachtungsnetz.
Acoustic waves initiated by meteors are recorded at seismic stations after their propagation through the atmosphere. They couple into the earth’s surface. And they generate seismic Rayleigh waves which can be recorded as forerunners at other places. Seismic records of three meteors have been interpreted. In one case the meteor trace crosses the observating net, in another one it is laterally distant of it and in a third one there is a remoted trace with respecht to the stations.
