This research investigates how the concentration of maritime operations in Barranquilla reshaped the urban, social, and environmental trajectory of Puerto Colombia between 1890 and 1960. The main objective is to assess the impact of the pier’s decline on Puerto Colombia’s urban configuration and to identify the technical, economic, and political actors who drove this shift. The study adopts a historiographical approach that chronologically organizes and contrasts secondary sources with primary documents such as censuses, official resolutions, and maps. These materials are examined through a conceptual-historical method focused on key concepts and oriented toward revealing the “intentionalities” behind dominant narratives. The findings demonstrate that technical rhetoric concealed corporate strategies that concentrated benefits in Barranquilla while triggering urban stagnation and coastal erosion in Puerto Colombia. The study concludes that a comprehensive understanding of the case requires a critical reassessment of Colombian port planning through the lenses of territorial equity and socio environmental reparation.", "Ende des 19. Ihr übergeordnetes Ziel ist es, die Auswirkungen des Pier‑Verlusts auf die urbane Konfiguration von Puerto Colombia zu bewerten und die technischen, wirtschaftlichen und politischen Akteure zu identifizieren, die diesen Transfer vorantrieben. Hierfür wird ein historiographischer Ansatz gewählt, der sekundäre Quellen chronologisch ordnet und mit Primärdokumenten wie Volkszählungen, Verordnungen und Karten vergleicht; diese Evidenzen werden mithilfe begriffsgeschichtlicher Analyse auf der Grundlage von Grundbegriffen ausgewertet, um die „Intentionalität“ der dominierenden Narrative aufzudecken. Die Studie zeigt, dass die technische Rhetorik unternehmerische Strategien verschleierte, die Vorteile in Barranquilla bündelten und zugleich die städtische Stagnation sowie Küstenerosion in Puerto Colombia beschleunigten.
