Mittels morphologischer, anatomischer und karyologischer Methoden werden die Gruppen um Festuca valesiaca SCHLEICH. ex Gaudin und Festuca laevigata GAUDIN systematisch neu gegliedert und die Verbreitung der einzelnen Sippen in den Westalpen dargestellt. In einer Diskussion wird auf verschiedene Prozesse in der Evolution eingegangen, die zur Bildung dieser Polyploidkomplexe geführt haben könnten. Neben der Umkombination dreier Taxa (Festuca bauzanina (PILS) S. ARNDT, F. guinochetii (BIDAULT) S. ARNDT, F. ticinensis MARKGR.-DANN. subsp. billyi (KERGUÉLEN & PLONKA) S. ARNDT) wird mit F. bauzanina subsp. rhaetica S. ARNDT eine neue oktoploide Unterart aus den Zentralalpen beschrieben. The taxa of the Festuca valesiaca SCHLEICH. ex GAUDIN group and the F. laevigata GAUDIN group were systematically re-classified by morphological, anatomical and caryological methods and the distribution oft these taxa in the western Alps was presented. Different scenarios which could lead to the evolution of the investigated polyploid complexes were discussed. Three taxa were newly combined (Festuca bauzanina (PILS) S. ARNDT, F. guinochetii (BIDAULT) S. ARNDT, F. ticinensis MARKGR.-DANN. subsp. billyi (KERGUÉLEN & PLONKA) S. ARNDT) and a new octoploid subspecies was described from the central Alps (F. bauzanina subsp. rhaetica S. ARNDT).
